These Mastery Points can be earned through combat, with five being rewarded from the unavoidable battle you’ll face in The Valley before your first Inn. The Trainer can upgrade any of your party’s Skills for one Mastery Point each. To do this, you’ll need to visit the Mastery Trainer, who appears at each Inn you visit during your run.
